Boards: a new way to organise your tales

Introducing Boards - A New Way to Bring Your Worlds to Life
Every story starts with a blank page. But sometimes, words alone aren’t enough to capture what’s in your imagination, you need something to visualize the webs of relationships, the geography of your setting, or the mysterious script on an ancient relic.
That’s why we built Boards, a brand-new visual tool in Talesmyth v1.8.0 that lets you see your worlds in an entirely new way.
Visual Storytelling, Evolved
Boards give you a flexible canvas for creativity: combine text, shapes, entities, and drawings to turn abstract ideas into something you can see. Sketch quick flowcharts, rough maps, or language notes without leaving Talesmyth.
Our drawing tools let you add rectangles, circles, lines, arrows, or freehand sketches, while the text tool makes it easy to label and style every element.
Your Worlds, Your Way
Boards integrate seamlessly with your existing Talesmyth entities. Want to link a specific character, location, or artifact? Just drop it directly into your board, complete with its image and context. It’s perfect for tracking relationships, plotting chapters, or building the visual side of your lore.
For example, in our demo world Smyth has been using a board to piece together a parchment written in strange cragborn script, connecting translation notes and related locations in one place.

Boards are just getting started
Future updates will expand how they connect with Tales, improve relationship tracking, and add more tools for mapping ideas and worldbuilding.
Boards are counted as Tales, so you can use them naturally alongside your existing stories and projects. Whether you’re planning a campaign, building a new civilization, or just brainstorming ideas, Boards help you organize and express your creations like never before.

We can’t wait to see what you build.
